Dip Stands

There isn't a law that says you have to use fitness equipment when strength training. Strength training involves using resistance to make you stronger. For some exercises you can use basic household items for a workout nearly as effective as if it were performed with machines. The problem with using those items is that since they were not designed for exercising, there is the opportunity that something could go wrong with your workout.

Tricep dips require that you lift yourself up and down while holding yourself up with your hands. People often perform this exercise using either two chairs where they lift themselves between the two chairs, or they place their hands behind them on the edge of a single chair. While you can use chairs, they don't offer the support you need when performing this exercise. You could strain your wrists or hands or since the chair is not secure you could easily lose your balance and injure yourself.

A dip stand is not a very complex piece of equipment. In fact, there typically is no assembly required. What this body building equipment provides is a sturdy piece of equipment for which to do tricep dips. The Regular Dip Stand SMI is one of the most basic dip stands on the market. However, you can still obtain an effective upper-body workout using this equipment.

If you require a dip stand that people of various heights and weights can share, you might want to consider a larger stand such as the Freestanding Dip Station. This equipment is capable of withstanding weights in excess of 250 pounds and is angled so that anyone can use it. The equipment also includes numerous comfort features to ensure your tricep workouts are safe as well as comfortable so you can focus on the exercise instead of worrying if you're going to tip over.
